In 1993 the company PHU Eksport Import "Zomar" Spółka z o.o. was formed. From the beginning of our operations, we have been primarily involved in foreign trade – in the first period, the import of mineral fertilisers from Ukraine. In 1994 we started export sales of coal and established our first trading contacts with Ukrainian companies from the power and heat generation sector. The year 1995 was a period of the company’s dynamic development. Thanks to continued cooperation with the Ukrainian power industry, we obtained the possibility to import electricity from the Dobrotvor Thermal Power Plant in exchange for steam coal supplied from Poland. The signing of long-term agreements on cooperation in energy and coal markets between interested entities from Ukraine and Poland in July 1995 was a remarkable event in the company’s history. Since 2000 we have held an electricity trading license for the whole territory of the Republic of Poland and we act as an agent in electricity purchase and sale transactions between electricity generators and consumers. Thanks to our cooperation with coal mines and processing plants, we are also a coal supplier to Polish power plants, municipal district heating stations, housing associations and other electricity consumers.  We are an exporter of power generation machinery and equipment to the Ukrainian market.Since 28 December 1999 ZOMAR has been a joint-stock company.Our experience gained in trade and the company’s dynamic development allowed us to set up new independent companies in which ZOMAR is a shareholder or the sole owner.
